Shots Trio Sign On

Scott - One of three more players to sign up for next season
Official Shots website, has confirmed that Ryan Scott, Dave Winfield and Kirk Hudson have all signed new deals, keeping them at the Recreation Ground for the 2007/08 season.

20-year-old Ryan Scott has progressed through the schoolboy and youth ranks with The Shots and has featured 79 times for the first team and the local player also became the clubs youngest captain when he took charge against Eastleigh in this seasons Hampshire Senior Cup tie.

Dave Winfield has also come through the junior ranks of the club and is another local lad who has now featured 40 times for the first team, while Kirk Hudson joined from Ashford Town (Mx) and has scored 12 times in 44 games so far for the club.

Speaking to the official site, Martin Kuhl said, "They are all good youngsters and have great prospects in front of them.

"This is what the club needs to be doing. Ryan and Dave have come through the youth ranks at the club and it is a far better way to sign players this way and it is all about assembling quality kids that have the potential to come through".

With no name publically confirmed for the manager position at the club, the announcement has raised speculation that whoever it is, has already been chosen and has possibly been consulted regarding the new contracts as it seems strange that players are being offered new deals when then "next" manager may not see the players as part of his long term plans.  We'll have to wait and see.
