Shots Boost Squad By Five

ALDERSHOT TOWN boss Andy Scott has boosted his threadbare squad today and confirmed five more players to his new look roster.

Goalkeeper Glenn Morris, defender Joe Oastler, midfielder Martin Rowlands and strikers Matt Paterson and Brett Williams have all been confirmed as having agreed terms with Aldershot Town this afternoon as manager Andy Scott continues to build a squad ahead of Saturday’s Skrill Premier League getting underway at Blundell Park, kick off 3pm.

Morris returns to the club after playing six games for The Shots last season and previously spending nine seasons with Leyton Orient and two with the Thames Estuary Galactacos, while Oastler played over 120 games for Torquay United before being released this summer.

Rowlands began his career with Farnborough before moving to Queens Park Rangers where he made 350 appearances before serious injury put a stop to his career, however the former Republic of Ireland International managed to make 33 appearances for Leyton Orient last season before he was released this summer.

Paterson meanwhile, scored seven goals for Burton Albion last season as they reached the League Two play offs and Williams, who began his career with Eastleigh and earned a £50000 move to Reading, has also gained loan experience with Rotherham United, Northampton Town and Woking, before being released by Reading in the summer.
