Shots defender Anthony Straker told BBC Radio Surrey that he has gained in confidence after his loan spell with Wycombe Wanderers.

BBC Radio Surrey spoke to 22-year-old Shots defender Anthony Straker following Tuesday evening's 1-0 victory over Torquay United on Tuesday evening and having played four games in a one-month spell with the Chairboys, the talented youngster has featured in both of the games back with The Shots since the endof his loan spell and he said: "It helped to be with some management and staff who had been here before.

"Coming back puts you in a different mindset and you're ready to try new things. Now I'm back here I just want to get in the team."

After ending a nine-game winless streak with the victory, the Shots now lie 11 points off both the League Two play-off places and relegation zone.

"We're definitely hoping to go up the table and not down," added Straker.

"We're on a fresh start and we can kick on in that last straight at the end of the season.

"I think we'll be able to get a play-off spot."
