After discussions with Godalming Town Football Club we confirm that an Aldershot Town XI will participate in the Paul Hampshire Testimonial next Tuesday evening (18 November) at Wey Court. Although we have an FA Cup first round replay at Rotherham United on the same evening we confirm that a side representing Aldershot Town will travel.
Paul (Paddy) a former player for both clubs, has been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. Paddy made a number of appearances for Aldershot in the early 1980's and scored on his debut against Stockport County.
He joined Godalming in time for the club's Combined Counties double winning season in 1983/84 and eventually scored 123 goals in 124 games. He remains the club's second highest goalscorer.
Kick-off is at 7.30pm and adult tickets will be £5, concessions will be available for £3.
Godalming Town play at Wey Court, Meadrow, Godalming, GU7 3JE. There is no parking at the ground but supporters should use the adjacent public car park or the surrounding streets. Supporters not travelling to the Rotherham United replay are encouraged to attend.
