Logan saves Dale

Conrad Logan spared Rochdale's blushes after his string of fine saves held Conference Premier side Aldershot to a 0-0 draw in the FA Cup second round.

Rochdale, who are eighth in League One, struggled for fluency early on but created the first half's best chance on 15 minutes as Phil Smith raced off his line to deny Calvin Andrew.

Aldershot did have their fair share of possession, however, and two Dan Holman chances shortly before half-time gave them cause for optimism.

His first effort was saved by Logan with his second flashing narrowly wide.

Aldershot were relegated from League Two last year but have reached the second round of the FA Cup in 10 of their last 12 seasons.

And they did enjoy the better chances in the second half, as Logan was forced to save brilliantly from Brett Williams' point-blank effort before making another stop from the striker shortly after.

Then in injury time, Logan palmed away Glenn Wilson and Holman efforts from close range after a goalmouth scramble to ensure a replay at Spotland.
